KUPWARA POLICE RECOVERED 4 KGS OF CHARAS ARRESTED 03 NOTORIOUS DRUG PEDDLERS.

Continuing with the special drive of J&K Police to eradicate the drug menace from the society, based on specific information, the special team of District Police Kupwara has achieved another big success by arresting 03 notorious drug peddlers from different locations of the district and recovered 4 kgs of Charas from their possession.

The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as 1. Shabir Ahmad Mir S/O Mohmad Sadiq Mir R/o Dardpora Kralpora 2. Waqar Ahmad Zargar S/O Abdul Majeed Zargar R/O Tikker 3. Abdul Rashid Mir S/O Ab Jabbar Mir R/O Tungar Mohalla Khumriyal, from their possession 4 Kgs Charas has been recovered. Vehicle No DL3 CAT 2560 used by the peddlers has also been seized. Cases under NDPS Act have been registered and investigation is in progress, more arrests are expected. During the current year , the Special team has so far arrested 48 notorious drug peddlers/narcotic smugglers and recovered 28 Kgs of Charas, 2 Kgs of Heroine, 4.5 Kgs of Brown Sugar, large quantity of codeine,capsules proxovan/banned drugs from their possession. One cross LoC narcotic smuggling module has also been busted by arresting 04 notorious cross LoC narcotic smugglers from Karnah area and recovered huge quantity of heroine and brown sugar.

People of the Kupwara have eulogized the role of Police for launching effective campaign against drug peddlers and sale of psychotropic substances which according to locals are adversely affecting and ruining the future of the youth of the area. Residents of the District have also expressed their gratitude to J&K Police Chief Shri S.P. Vaid, IPS under whose directions and guidance,J&K Police is committed to eradicate the drug menace from the society which is one of the commandments of J&K Police for the year 2017. District Police Kupwara has appealed the local residents to come forward and help the police to eradicate this menace from the society. District Police Kupwara also appealed the parents of addicted youth to come forward without any social stigma and avail the free facilities of drug de-addiction created by J&K Police at Drug de-Addiction Centre PCR Srinagar.
